COLT CREEK OUTFITTERS
The Blackstone
(cutthroat & bull trout)
The Blackstone river is a tributary of the mighty Brazeau river, and cuts its way through the mountains for approximately 90km, where it then splits and becomes George creek. Due to location and the fact it's open less than five months a year, this river makes for some beautiful scenery and unbelievable fishing. This is a walk and wade tour using primarily dry flies on light weight rods, unless the conditions call for a little nymph fishing. The Blackstone is strictly catch and release, and is proud to be one of the only rivers in Alberta where Bull Trout will constantly take dry flies. We invite you to a full or half day tour to fish the exciting Blackstone.

The Bighorn
(cutthroat trout)
The Bighorn river runs for approximately 50km and flows into the North Saskatchewan. Because of its easy accessibility and the route it takes through the Cresent Falls recreation area, you will more often run into other anglers and outdoor enthusiasts here.

However, don't let this fool you about the tremendous fishing opportunities. Boasting as many as ten to twenty strikes an hour, it's a day of fishing you won't soon forget. This is also a walk and wade tour using primarily dry flies on light weight rods, and is offered in half or full day trips with special evening tours available.
